This week I massively re-engaged with Mis-Teeq's back catalogue and, in doing so, acquired a copy of the 2003
Red Room Sessions release. There's no doubt hits like
'Scandalous' and
'One Night Stand' still sound current.
By extension, I also became interested in Alesha's solo work. I own a copy of
The Entertainer, but otherwise hadn't delved much further. Ever intrigued by releases that don't make the cut I discovered
Fired Up, which was postponed indefinitely and released only in Japan.
This album bears the most similarities to her work with Mis-Teeq. I was surprised to instantly recognise both '
Lipstick' and '
Knockdown', making it all the more clear this album should have seen the light of day.
